Wrexham has officially parted ways with Ollie Palmer as of August, concluding a productive three-and-a-half-year stint with the club.
Palmer joined Wrexham during Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s first full season as owners and played a pivotal role in helping the team escape the National League after a 15-year absence.
Under his contribution, Wrexham achieved promotion in the 2022/23 season and finished second in League Two in the subsequent campaign.
Although things did not go as well during his League One season, Palmer signed a new contract in October 2024 before being removed from the matchday squad by manager Phil Parkinson after January 28.
Palmer has since transferred to Swindon Town, where he recently netted his first goal for his new team under manager Ian Holloway.

Ollie Palmer Scores His First Goal for Swindon Town
Palmer made his debut for Swindon against Crewe Alexandra in a League Two match recently. He continued to show his prowess on the field during an EFL Trophy game against Reading this week.
Former Wrexham teammate Jack Marriott, who transferred to Reading this summer, faced off against Palmer in that match.
Palmer managed to score his first goal for Swindon, helping the team secure a 3-2 win, with him finding the net for their second goal.
After the game, Holloway shared his thoughts on Palmer’s performance. He expressed satisfaction with how Palmer is adapting to the team and celebrated his goal and contribution to the win.
“We were somewhat off our game in the first few minutes but scored perhaps against the run of play, as they caused us some issues,” Holloway remarked. “Overall, I’m thrilled with the performance. Ollie is beginning to fit in well, which is great for us.”
Wrexham and Ollie Palmer: Contract Termination Details
Initially, Palmer was under contract with Wrexham until June 2026. However, the club and the player mutually agreed to terminate the contract, allowing him to depart.
In light of Palmer’s exit, Ryan Reynolds reached out with a message, and he received a financial settlement upon leaving.
Transfer expert Graeme Bailey noted, “Holloway played a significant role in bringing Palmer to Swindon, where they offered a robust financial package. Wrexham also provided him with a good severance deal.”
