Since his release, Wrexham has emerged as a possible destination for Alli. Under the management of Phil Parkinson, Wrexham has shown interest in several high-profile free agents this summer, having even approached Christian Eriksen for a potential signing.

Aside from Wrexham, other clubs such as Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion are believed to be keen on acquiring Alli, who is now 29 years old.

In a recent statement to Wales Online, Swansea’s coach Alan Sheehan ruled out a potential move for Alli, creating more space for Wrexham to act on their interest. Sheehan emphasized, “I can rule that out. I haven’t heard anything recently about that. We’ve completed our deals unless something changes dramatically. Dele Alli is a fantastic player, but I can say no for Swansea at this moment.”

Opportunity for Wrexham, but Alli’s Move Appears Unlikely

While Alli certainly has various options, Wrexham stands out as a plausible choice. For owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, signing a player of Alli’s caliber could significantly enhance their global brand and visibility. However, from a sporting perspective, acquiring Alli could present a risk. His performance has waned considerably in recent years, and there are no clear indications that he is poised to return to form.

Additionally, it has been announced that Ollie Rathbone is expected to make a return to the Wrexham lineup after recovery from an ankle injury. Manager Phil Parkinson has expressed optimism regarding Rathbone’s eventual impact on the team.
