“Wrexham Player Competing with Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer for Goals Despite Not Being a Striker”

Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin have been performing impressively since their departures from Wrexham, but another former player is keeping pace with them.

Ollie Palmer’s contract with Wrexham was terminated in August, allowing him to join Swindon Town on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Paul Mullin has signed with Wigan Athletic, but is expected to make a return to the Racecourse Ground in 2026 upon the completion of his loan.

This season, Palmer has already surpassed his goal tally from the previous 2024/25 campaign, recently scoring in a League Two match against Bromley.

On the other hand, Mullin has matched his scoring record from Wrexham while playing in League One for Wigan.

Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer Challenged by Another Ex-Wrexham Player

As of now, both Mullin and Palmer have each netted three goals in the current league season, demonstrating solid performances for two seasoned forwards. However, another recently departed player is also matching their efforts.

Wrexham released eight players when their contracts expired on June 30, 2025.

Among them was Jordan Davies, who initially had difficulty securing a new club and spent the summer training with the PFA squad. He eventually found a home at Fleetwood Town on August 27.

Davies has made an immediate impact, scoring three goals and providing one assist in just five league matches since joining Fleetwood.

Manager Commends Jordan Davies

The 27-year-old midfielder began his senior career at Wrexham, where he scored 31 goals in 139 appearances. After spending the previous season on loan with Grimsby Town, he is now flourishing at his new permanent club.

Fleetwood’s manager expressed his admiration for Davies following his impressive performance, where he scored two goals in a 4-2 victory over Colchester United. He noted, “I’ve been a fan of Jordan for years, and today he showcased his talent with two fantastic finishes. He gives us balance, has a keen eye for a pass, and contributes goals to the team.”
