This summer, Wrexham overhauled their attacking lineup, but one player they missed out on is currently outperforming Kieffer Moore.
During the 2025 summer transfer window, Wrexham made significant investments to bolster their forward line.
New arrivals included Kieffer Moore, Ryan Hardie, Josh Windass, and Nathan Broadhead, all of whom joined the squad at the Racecourse Ground.
Thus far, Moore has emerged as the highlight of the Dragons’ signings in the Championship, especially after scoring in the recent 3-1 loss to Queens Park Rangers, bringing his tally to four goals and one assist in just five matches.
However, one transfer target of Wrexham’s is currently outshining the former Sheffield United player this season, after the club decided against pursuing him.

Davis Keillor-Dunn is Surpassing Moore and Mullin
During the summer, journalist Nathan Salt reported that Wrexham had expressed interest in forward Davis Keillor-Dunn.
Barnsley’s striker was rumored to be available for around £2.5 million, according to Salt’s insights.
He remarked, “My understanding is that no official offers for Keillor-Dunn have been made yet to Barnsley. A fee between £2.5 million to £3 million seems to be the target for any deal.”
Salt added, “I believe Parkinson has made an inquiry; he is aware of the asking price, and now it’s a matter of waiting.”
Despite this interest, no transfer materialized, allowing the striker to remain at Barnsley, where he has been performing exceptionally this season.
Currently, Keillor-Dunn boasts five goals in League One this season and is competing against Wrexham’s loanee, Paul Mullin, who has scored twice in eight league games and three times across all competitions since moving to Wigan Athletic.

The Need for Additional Striker
If Wrexham had signed Keillor-Dunn, he would likely have played just behind Moore, a role currently filled by Windass and Broadhead.
Even with his inclusion, it’s plausible that manager Parkinson would still need to add another forward to his roster.
Following Ollie Palmer’s departure last month, Wrexham’s manager lacks adequate cover for Moore, whose role is pivotal to the team’s strategy.
As it stands, he is the only player of his type in the squad, and an injury or suspension could severely impact the Dragons’ ability to score and generate opportunities.
